Every Day A Friday

I had to pick up another Joel Osteen book after I finished I declare. So I got my hands on Every Day a Friday, in this book Pastor Osteen gives encouragement, spiritual advice, and guidance on how you can find joy and happiness 7 days a week, for the rest of your life. I plan to keep a journal like I did for the last book so from time to time I'll share my thoughts on certain chapters, so just look out for future Every Day a Friday posts. xo

Top "I declare" Week 4

Week 4: Day 28

Day 28 speaks of praying BOLD prayers and expecting big and believing big! I think we as humans have become accustomed to settling. Whether it is in a career we've outgrown years ago or in a relationship that has hit a dead end. God hasn't delivered you from that situation because he is waiting for you to ASK! James 4:2 says, " You have not because you ask not." By withholding your true desires you aren't asking for God's blessings and increase in your life, therefore you're not releasing your faith. When you think about it it's a simple concept, if you pray small you will get small blessings but if you pray big you are giving God the opportunity to do big things in your life. I'll pose the same challenge to you that I did to my twitter followers. " Pray BOLD prayers, and see the difference it will make in your life. Be blessed!

Week 3: Day 17

I picked Day 17 as my favorite for this week because this is actually a challenge I have for myself. Its one thing to have faith and pray for your situation to change but it’s another to put action behind your faith. In relationships the cliché, “actions speak louder than words”, is something we have all heard. The same is true with your relationship with God, he not only wants to hear you say that you believe in him but he also wants to see you step out on faith. For example, I know I want to be in graduate school next fall working on my MPH. Now I know God knows the desires of my heart because he is the one that put it there, however, I can’t just pray about it. I have to step out on faith and start doing the things I need to get done to make that goal a reality. I challenge you to do the same, whatever it is you are praying for God to bring to past think on how you can actively work towards it and watch how God works things out in your favor. Be blessed!

Week 2: Day 10

I made Day 10 my favorite because I know I’m guilty of looking at others and comparing their success to my own. However, over the last 6 months I’ve been learning that comparing my path to someone else’s is counter productive and gives the opportunity for a seed of jealousy to be planted. I now understand to focus on my own path because it is unique to just me. Day 10′s declaration spoke on God’s ability to speed up your path at a moments notice, and I took comfort in that. All God ask is that we put our trust in him and allow him to order our steps and push us ahead through his blessings. So be happy for the blessings that come to your friends and family, but know God hasn’t forgotten about you either. Be blessed!

Top “I declare” Week 1

Posting all 31 “I declare” chapters is an exhausting process and it may be against a copyright law, lol. So I decided to post the “I declare” chapter one for each week that resonated with me the most. So here it goes..

Week 1: Day 4

Day 4′s declaration was my favorite for Week 1 because it was exactly what I needed to hear. Reading it felt like I had God’s confirmation that I haven’t failed and the goals and dreams I have for myself are still attainable. Just because things didn’t happen on my time or when I hoped for it to that doesn’t mean it won’t come to past. I always go back and re-read day 4 when I need a little extra encouragment, and it still puts a smile on my face like it did the first time I read it. Be blessed!
