To all my Lefties!

It's National Left-Handed Day! So this post is dedicated to all those who share my struggle, this article, The 18 Worst Things For Left-Handed People , was circulating all over Facebook so I'm posting a few that I HATE the most about everything being made with right handed people in mind.

1. I HATE THESE DESKS!

Most of the lecture halls at UK look exactly like this! Can you imagine taking a two hour final with your back twisted to write on this stupid desk.

2. This is how my hand looks almost everyday!

This is how my hand would look after sitting in class writing pages and pages of notes, not to mention my notes are all smudged because it's hard to keep my hand from rubbing across the page as I'm writing.

3. Yes, this sucks too!

It's pretty hard to write with 3 stupid rings in your way! So I always take the loose leaf paper out and write that way, much easier.

4. Ballpoint pens don't work as well because lefties push the ball instead of pull.

This is so true! I always wondered why pens I use would stop up all the time but now I know, and I had no idea it had to do with me being left handed.

Ok, so that is my little rant of the day! Happy National Left-Handed Day to all my lefties :)

Busy Day

Hey! Very short post today. Long day at work, then I had to run some errands and pay a few bills after work. After that I changed clothes and went straight to church because today kicked off our Revival week. As tired as I was I'm happy I pushed myself to go, I was so blessed! Headed to bed, goodnight y'all.xo

Sunday Funday!

Sundays are usually my favorite day of the week, after church I usually like to spend the day relaxing before a hectic work week starts back up. Today I treated myself to a pedicure, and it was exactly what I needed. I drove all the way across town to the salon I usually go to but to my surprise they were closed on Sundays. So I decided to try out a new place a little closer to my house, and I'm so glad I did. The salon was pretty much empty so they got me in a chair really quick. I had the massage chair running about 15 minutes before one of the nail techs got started. It was amazing! I literally fell asleep in the chair, probably thanks to the two glasses of wine I was sipping on. Cara, my nail tech was super sweet and gentle. At the salon I usually visit my pedicures are always rushed because they're so busy. It felt great to have someone actually take their time and not rush you through your appointment. I've been in the best mood ever since I left, I think I'm ready to tackle this work week! xo

Best Movie of the Summer

Today was such a rainy day so I decided to catch a movie with my Mom. We saw 2 Guns featuring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. My mom was so excited to see this movie because she's in love with Denzel, but I just came along to hang out with her. This movie turned out to be AMAZING! I loved all the action, suspense, and comedy. I've seen a lot of movies this summer but 2 Guns is definitely my favorite. I posted the trailer above, I definitely suggest you go check this movie out!

Weekend Getaway

Untitled #6

I love to get away on the weekends! I pack lite and usually hit the road right after work on Friday. This weekend I was planning on driving down to Nashville to visit some friends, but with all rain that hit Nashville and more predicted this weekend a change of destination is in order. I love to keep it simple but stylish, a tank and loose fitting blue jeans paired with cute sandals and a cross body purse sums up my weekend style. So this post is just a little inspiration for any of you getting away this weekend. :)

Queen Bey's New Do

So BeyoncĂ© unveiled her new look today via Instagram, and of course in true Bey fashion it made headlines around the world. Although I'm loving the new look, I'm still annoyed about all the controversy and discussion it's caused. Don't get me wrong I love me some Bey, but what she does with her hair is of no importance to me, she's a grown woman (*cue her song Grown Woman*). Can you hear the wave of women all around the world ripping out their weave to embark on a "new" look? The pixie cut will now be renamed the "Bey cut" starting...nowwww. Lord help us! lol

3 Things I'm OBESSED with!

1. LONDON!
London has quickly topped my list of cities I MUST visit. I've been obsessed with this city since the Summer 2012 Olympic games, and the hype over the new royal baby sealed the deal! The few clips I've seen of London, and all of the rich history it possess makes me want to drain my savings and buy a ticket today. I'm determined to visit this fabulous city even if I have to go alone! I heard the best time to go is spring/summer. I have a few friends who have visited London so I plan on definitely picking their brain about public transportation, finding affordable hostels and all the hot spots I have to hit. So it seems like I'm be starting a London Fund soon, and I'm accepting any and all donations. :) kidding

2. COCONUT OIL

I'll admit that I'm late to the coconut oil movement, but I'm glad I finally got hip! For most of the summer I've been wearing my hair natural. Think I've mentioned this in a past post but I've actually always been natural. I've never had a relaxer, but I do get it pressed. Yes, I know how ol' school a press and curl is but I've been rocking it since I was 9 or 10. The summer in Kentucky are humid so getting it pressed is usually a waste because it reverts back within a few days. I heard coconut oil is a God send for your hair so I thought I give it a try. I did some research and found out a lot of great info from an awesome website (click here to visit). I did not put any heat on my hair for over two months and used Coconut Oil along with other natural products religiously. I straightened my hair for the first time last week and I noticed a HUGE difference. My hair is much easier to detangle, its much softer, it has a beautiful shine, and as an added bonus my hair has grown! The pic is the exact brand and type that I bought at my local Whole Foods. I would definitely recommend trying it!

P.S. Coconut Oil also has many other great uses, I love it for my skin!

3. J. CREW BRACELET
I ordered this beauty a couple of weeks ago when it was on sale for $21.50 thanks to one of my favorite Youtube gals for the recommendation! (click here to visit Erika's blog!). I normally pair it with my gold Michael Kors 'Runway' watch, it gives it such a simple but elegant look. I always get a ton of compliments when I wear it. This was my first time ordering from J.Crew Factory's website, everything was perfect. Shipping was fast, the bracelet was packaged carefully and it looked exactly as it was shown. Right now the bracelet is priced at $25.50 slightly more than what I paid but still a great deal from the original price of $36.50. So if you're looking to add another piece of jewelry to your collection I would highly recommend this one!
