Beauty Faves of 2012

Beauty Faves of 2012

The items pictured above have been favorites of mine for the entire year of 2012. Whether it was spring, summer, fall or winter I have been reaching for these products. Many of these can be purchased at a drugstore so they won't hurt your pockets! Eyes: My everyday look is normally a smokey neutral eye with black eyeliner on my top waterline and voluminous lashes, this look is achieved with the products above. Lips: A tinted moisturizing lip balm under a sheen of lip gloss is my go to look for lips. I save lipstick for special occasions! Face: I put as little on my face as possible because I'm usually rushing! Normally I'll spot conceal any blemishes with my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (not pictured), and then use MAC Mineralized Skin Finish, a light pink blush and a transparent pressed powder to keep my face matte for the day. Here's to 2013! xo.

Life As I Know It: December

  • The first pic represents my line turning 3 years old on December 6th! Proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
  • I was behind this truck a couple of weeks ago and it gave me just the encouragement I needed it said, "Keep on trusting God is still in charge"
  • The third pic was at my friend Mina, Graduation Dinner. College wouldn't have been the same without these girls! Now we are all UK alumni!
  • My little sis with the gift she wanted to open on Christmas Eve
  • Picked up these UK ornaments even though I didn't have a tree this year but I'm determined to get one for my apartment next year
  • My little bro with the gift he wanted to open on Christmas Eve

Top "I declare" Week 4

Week 4: Day 28

Day 28 speaks of praying BOLD prayers and expecting big and believing big! I think we as humans have become accustomed to settling. Whether it is in a career we've outgrown years ago or in a relationship that has hit a dead end. God hasn't delivered you from that situation because he is waiting for you to ASK! James 4:2 says, " You have not because you ask not." By withholding your true desires you aren't asking for God's blessings and increase in your life, therefore you're not releasing your faith. When you think about it it's a simple concept, if you pray small you will get small blessings but if you pray big you are giving God the opportunity to do big things in your life. I'll pose the same challenge to you that I did to my twitter followers. " Pray BOLD prayers, and see the difference it will make in your life. Be blessed!

Week 3: Day 17

I picked Day 17 as my favorite for this week because this is actually a challenge I have for myself. Its one thing to have faith and pray for your situation to change but it’s another to put action behind your faith. In relationships the cliché, “actions speak louder than words”, is something we have all heard. The same is true with your relationship with God, he not only wants to hear you say that you believe in him but he also wants to see you step out on faith. For example, I know I want to be in graduate school next fall working on my MPH. Now I know God knows the desires of my heart because he is the one that put it there, however, I can’t just pray about it. I have to step out on faith and start doing the things I need to get done to make that goal a reality. I challenge you to do the same, whatever it is you are praying for God to bring to past think on how you can actively work towards it and watch how God works things out in your favor. Be blessed!

Top “I declare” Week 2

Week 2: Day 10

I made Day 10 my favorite because I know I’m guilty of looking at others and comparing their success to my own. However, over the last 6 months I’ve been learning that comparing my path to someone else’s is counter productive and gives the opportunity for a seed of jealousy to be planted. I now understand to focus on my own path because it is unique to just me. Day 10′s declaration spoke on God’s ability to speed up your path at a moments notice, and I took comfort in that. All God ask is that we put our trust in him and allow him to order our steps and push us ahead through his blessings. So be happy for the blessings that come to your friends and family, but know God hasn’t forgotten about you either. Be blessed!

Top “I declare” Week 1

Posting all 31 “I declare” chapters is an exhausting process and it may be against a copyright law, lol. So I decided to post the “I declare” chapter one for each week that resonated with me the most. So here it goes..

Week 1: Day 4

Day 4′s declaration was my favorite for Week 1 because it was exactly what I needed to hear. Reading it felt like I had God’s confirmation that I haven’t failed and the goals and dreams I have for myself are still attainable. Just because things didn’t happen on my time or when I hoped for it to that doesn’t mean it won’t come to past. I always go back and re-read day 4 when I need a little extra encouragment, and it still puts a smile on my face like it did the first time I read it. Be blessed!

I declare...

On my former blog I explained how I was starting Joel Osteen's 31 Promises to Speak Over Your Life. So I'm going to repost my posts on this book on my new blog, Blog Pray Love! Enjoy

I’m excited to start Joel Osteen’s latest book tomorrow (December 1st). I’ve heard a lot of great things about it so I wanted to pick up a copy for myself. I also picked up a copy for one of my best friends from college, she lives in Nashville now so this gift served as a belated birthday present and just a thank you. She’s always been such a great friend but over the last few months since I’ve moved she’s been there for me in so many ways. I wanted to wait to the beginning of the month to start because this book contains a declaration for each day of the month. I wanted to share this on my blog because I wanted to post each declaration (or at least my favorites) on here. I know this book will be a blessing and I’m so anxious to start it. Happy Friday!
